Collection: Heat Shield Air Intake Kits

Rtunes Racing heat shield intake kits replace your factory airbox with a vehicle-specific intake tube plus a heat shield that surrounds the air filter. The shield blocks radiant heat from the engine bay so the filter pulls in cooler, denser air. They're built by year, make, model and engine for Chevy, Ford, Dodge, GMC, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, VW and more.

Why a heat shield intake?

An open cone filter sitting in the engine bay soaks up heat — especially at idle and in stop-and-go traffic, when there's no airflow to carry it away. The heat shield walls the filter off from that heat, keeping intake air temperatures down where it matters most. You get the simple install and low cost of a short ram with cooler air closer to a true cold air setup. Most drivers notice sharper throttle response and a deeper intake sound when accelerating.
